If the last time you had visited the Costa del Sol was back in the 60's before tourism really took off, nowadays a return would leave you shocked at the level of changes that have taken place on this stretch of coast.

Transport links in the Costa Del Sol have vastly improved helping the regon greatly. The E15 toll road now allows the spirited motorists to reach the city of Marbella in a little less than half an hour with Estepona just three quarters of an hour and Gibraltar in just over an hour.

Inland, towns such as Alhaurin el Grande, Alhaurin de la Torre, Coin and Monda can be reached in a fraction of the time it used to take and are attracting a good deal of interest from UK buyers who are looking for a property slightly inland.

When it comes to property in the costa del sol there is; apartments, townhouses, villas and luxury hotels, there's no shortage on the Costa del Sol. The Costa del Sol offers every sport imaginable to visitors and residents, from water-skiing, jet-bikes, tennis, canoeing, lawn bowls and of course golf - with a collection of new courses making the tally around 40 between Malaga and Gibraltar and several more in construction, there is no reason for golfers to run out of greens to play on.

Shopping has become a new passion on the Costa del Sol, with Marbella being a focus for excellent stores. From the quaint leather shoe stores of the Old Town to the designer labels and yachts of Puerto Banus, all tastes are catered for. La Canada, the large shopping centre on the by-pass, together with the new futuristic Marina Banus (opposite the Cortes Ingles), are forming an extension to what Puerto Banus has to offer.

The ports are as much about eating out and social life as they are about boating. Puerto Banus is packed with eateries, from the cheap and cheerful to the extravagant seafood emporia, as well as trendy bars which attract locals and tourist in a nightly parade of fast cars and over-tanned flesh.

Property in the Costa del Sol is fast becoming some of the most desirable in Europe as it becomes one of the world's most cosmopolitan areas to live and an area that more and more professionals and entrepreneurs are relocating to.
